"A good film begins & ends with a good script"

“A good film begins and ends with a good script” – Ernest Lehman (Screen Writer – Winner, Honorary Academy Award)

Even after a 100 years of filmmaking, very few filmmakers in India today invest sufficient time and effort in developing, fine tuning and polishing a script. Writing for the screen is a very specialized craft where every word in the script is aimed at making a visual and emotional imprint on the reader . Every sentence is weighed by an entire team of people from actor, to cinematographer to music composer, each of whom will prepare and set out on separate journeys to reach the same destination – a film. Hence, a script’s clarity, brevity and focus plays a huge role in its success.

FilmCamp.TV addresses this huge lacuna by conducting a writers meet where we will discuss sections of a script from a writer’s standpoint. We will then view footage of the those sections of the film to understand how a film evolves from the written word to become a film.

Their first collective will discuss sections from two films,
