St. Patricks Church Bench Detail

The first time I entered a church. Felt really good about. The serenity of the place made me feel so calm and composed. A few yards outside, I have to face the wrath of Bangalore’s confused traffic and noise. This endeavor with peace made me feel that I need to do this more often. Present the calmness to myself and it rewards you well with more of it.

This was shot when I was sitting inside the church which I dabbled into as a part of a photowalk. Well, in the end the photowalk gave me more than photographs.

Book Thought: Three Big Mistakes of my Life

Walked into one of Bangalore’s oldest book store, Premier Book Store on Church street. Went it with my buddy Hrish. He was complaining that I don’t do enough reading. He was saying ” A filmmaker you want to be, you better be reading books. It helps your vocabulary” I was like, well an advice doesn’t hurt. Its for free. Honestly, I used to be a voracious reader, but lost a bit of touch durin the momentum of my life. Now, an attempt to get back into some reading. Hrish bhai, picked ‘Three Mistakes of my life’ bu Chetan Bhagat ( the writer of ‘Five Point Someone’ and ‘One Night at a call centre’). I was more than glad to borrow it and read. Well, did the title of the book, sound a bit familiar to my life.

Ha ha!

Now the book. It’s a narration by a character Govind Patel to the author. It starts with an suicide email from Govind to the author. Once read, the author travels to India to meet him and the story unfold there as he explains. The story spoke about aspects of a man’s life and things that influence him. Friends, love, dreams, concern, goals, money, politics, religion, beliefs, superstitions, forced opinions, forced influences, grievences and death. This story revolves around three characters who are trying to figure out what to do with their lives. When, they do succeed in that, what other things come into play.

I would say, its a good story. Great narration. I did feel it to be a a bit BOLLYWOODISH. A good story line to be made into a film. Should say, I did feel like I was watching the movie, as I read through.

Rating: 3/5

P.S. I am not going to judge the author by this book, coz’ I haven’t read both his previous books. I have heard that they were great. So maybe I would try getting them to read and let you know, what I think about this author.

Try a Supermarket, if you want to fly

Book Stand at the Food World

In a dilemma where to find a passport form. NOW! available right at any food world supermarket for Rs. 10 πŸ™‚

Was walking down a road near my house after eatin some chat. My buddy and thought we would drop by at the food world to get some coke to fight the next day’s heat. As my friend was busy shopping and picking up more stuff than planned, thought would let him alone. I was standing near the book rack where and checking out some magazines… and to my surprise!!!! Look what I found there, the Indian Passport Application Form available for Rs. 10 (I’m glad they haven’ added some extra tax since it is in some supermarket) I was like, what the…. questions started popping up, well is this a good thing to happen or a bad thing. Well, the good thing would be, making things more available to the common man who might not be aware or busy to get an application form. I do think it is a big proof of an individual’s citizenship. And on the flip-side, aren’t they making it too easy for the people. Make them lazy to move their ass off to a the GPO (General Post Office) or the passport office to get one. Well, anyways it is here now. But still it is not all that noticable with all the beautiful women posing on the magazine covers, great looking cars on a few and some boring business stuff!!!! It surely is not in the limelight.

Finally, I landed up picking up one too. Well, are you asking if I’m part of the lazy ones. It’s a NO! I did go to the passport office to pick one up and I did too around 6 months ago. Now the form looks old, so to have a fresh start I picked one up here! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Hard Rock Cafe – Bengalooru

Finally, the ‘Hard Rock Cafe – Bengalooru (Bangalore)’ has made it into my list of cafes (this one is not really a coffee shop) visited. I was pretty impressed with ambience of the place, well designed aesthetically, well lit (loved the light at the table, I was sitting with Raghu & Hrish) It does carry the mood of Rock with the music being played throughout. Honestly, after visiting the Hard Rock Cafe, the other cafes in Bangalore looked under-done and felt as f they really needed to give their place a face lift of some sort or maybe i’m too influenced as of now, lol! πŸ™‚

Okay! I think this place is surely worth a visit. Here are some pics clicked at the Hard Rock Cafe by Hrish:

As of now, check it out in the above link. Will try gettin the pics embeded, when I find time.

Here is a short feel-about & Know-about of ‘ The Hard Rock Cafe – Bengalooru’

Location: St. Mark Road, Bangalore (Next to MG Road)

Ambience: Great and rRocky (literally, just like the name), Well lit lights.

Service: I would say, it was okay! cause they keep pestering you politely to keep ordering something or the other. And you need to ask a million times for water. Gotta be specific on how many glasses of water your table needs. Otherwise might land up getting it only for the person who asked for. Should appreciate the service otherwise is great. KUDOS for that.

Cost: Expensive/ Affordable. Can have a good time with a li’l deep pockets.

My order: Banana Smoothie: 180 Rs. and Jumbo Non-veg Combo (excellent choice of order) -500 Rs. French Fries: 100 Rs. Must say, yummy food they got. APPLAUSE

Overall: I would rate it 8/10

Fishing for net at Trivandrum

Whoa!!!!! I am so glad I’m seeing a computer with internet. I ain’t exaggerating, I really had to fish for some an internet cafe to check my mails. My search began on Wednesday of this week, finally found one on Friday before I came to a conclusion that this city city is still stone age {now I’m exxaggerating, lol} All the boards which said INternet, email, games….. do not exist in real when you land up the door of the shop!!!! Its like a thirsty man finding a mirage of a spring….. but finally he does find a real spring, just like I found this one…I am so glad as I’m writing this.. so I have to give credits to the this shop guy.. its called ‘ Sri Ayyappan Ned Cafe’ Indhernet for Rs. 10 with A/C’ [which was an attraction factor, thought there was a nice fan to chill the place] πŸ˜‰

My journey has been pretty interesting to me from the time I boarded the KSRTC Airavath which broke at 10.30 pm in the middle of nowhere and reached Triv the next day at 3 pm almost a days journey, which was not meant to be so, as it was to be only 16 hrs!!!! Anyways…. The city has managed to maintain its culture, language, tradition and history really very well…. me with my buddy Raghu( still not a blogger to link) clicked some real good pictures. There might be an impression that we are here for fun, but NOPE! we are on FilmCamp.TV work for a workshop of filmmaking here in this city. WORK IS IN PROGRESS…..

Shall surely share more interesting events that are worth a space in my memory πŸ™‚ soon…. as soon as I’m back to Bangalore which would be possibly in another 5 days!!!!!

Laters πŸ™‚

P.S. Few things I would like to add on

  • get a lappy ASAP with wireless internet which is one thing I decided to do.

And ya…. there is lots of such internet cafes near the Trivandrum Techno Park which is like 18 kms away from the city { it sounds like flashing a torch light at the sun, lol} anyways!!!! ON the GOOD NOTE: it surely is a beautiful city and lots of interesting things to know as well……. and to learn like Malayalam which I managed pretty well, unlike my buddy who tries his best to bend Kannada into Malayalam.. sounds muerderous.. but KUDOS to his effort πŸ™‚

My ride between the monsters at 11.00 pm

Its was another late night ride for me, which I have been riding so offlate, sometime after I started working. But this one today at 11 pm seemed very interesting and I felt so good riding my ” BIKE- its a blue pulsar 150cc” at that time. I was carrying some extra weight on bike too, my buddy. It was a 15 kms ride from Yelahanka to my house. This time, I was well equipped with a jacket to protect me from the cold winds, did not want to catch a cold or anything cause I was attending the “writers meet” on Sunday and I was taking someone out for lunch too after that. I realised one thing that my ride missed on for the past few late night ride, was the ipod shuffle which I own {a real proud owner of one, i should say}and today I had it with me, with one of the best track put on it from hiphop to techno, rock to ragaas to which I was rocking my head all the way home, making people think, that this guys is gone crazy in the middle of the night, I m sure my buddy who was sitting behind me also thought the same, though he was listening to, I guess some local FM channel, I m sure it must have been Radio one, spill your dil or some so called ” love gurus” that is. He had to tune on the radio cause he was sure that I aint gonna be listening to his blahs and blahs cause I was all away in glory, blasting my ipod with an in-ear earphone {not the apple one, got a sony for the effect} and it rocked. And he never complained cause just before i started I asked him:

me: is there something you want to tell me

buddy: kyon re? wat do u want me to tell.

me: I dunno. Just make use of this time to tell me anything, cause for the next 20 mins I m not gonna listen to whatever you gonna say even if you shout.

buddy: saala… i pod huh? thera bohuth hogaya re

me: whatever… just sit lets go

buddy: chal

I started off with Coldplays “yellow” and bike was a constant, then it shifted to another track called ” scientist “… then suddenly, the track changed to David Guetta’s Love is gone-radio edit… when the song hit the bit, I was on a sudden travel high, that I felt like a star and started cruising smoothly like a ship sailing through icebergs, I was cruising through the late night monsters [lorries] and made them look like losers. ha ha

oh my god, it was a dog.. suddenly crossed the road, i saved the dog, but it scared the hell outta my buddy sitting behind me.. πŸ˜€

me: sorry bro.. couldn see. the dog camouflaged

my buddy: its ok dude. My legs are shivering.

me: ha ha…..ok fine lets go…. if you want to finish your natures call, go ahead.

my buddy: hmmmm… naaa

me: ok lets hit it. I m already late for the morning. ha ha

when, this happened, I had paused a track…. but it shifted to a track of eagles and then as i rode along I had ‘stings- fields of gold’ and then back to back with tracks of Linkin Park increasing my thought tempo and so of my bike.

vroom… slow.. slow…. almost reaching halt at the road end of my house. CLANG### opened my gate. parked my bike in a most dignified way, he need to treated. and bid him a good bye and thanked him for wonderful ride.. and said: “we should do this sometime again.” he just nodded to his left as I locked him. πŸ˜€

Well a few shots in a 20 min ride: My night looked like this
